My wife and I have two young girls, Allison and Samantha. Angie is a homemaker and sells Pampered Chef while I work at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have a bachelors degree from the University of Missouri in General Agriculture and a masters degree from Montana State University-Bozeman in Animal and Range Science.  

My perspective of the beef industry comes from a unique, diverse background. These experiences include working for commercial and seedstock operations, beef semen sales with international travel, managing a feedyard, developing marketing programs for commercial producers through a breed association, and managing intensive-grazing operations. In addition, I have taught at the Graham School, which has successfully helped farmers and ranchers since 1909! The result of these experiences has shaped this basic goal;  

Create a simple system which allows beef producers to maximize profits and enjoy their business.  

The genetic goal of Fennewald Cattle Company is founded on some basic principles;

• no single breed excels in all traits of economic importance,
• optimum levels of performance in several traits is more economically advantageous than maximum performance for any single trait,
• success demands simplicity,
• matching crossbred cows to the environment maximizes reproductive success and production efficiency, and
• it is hard to argue with the market!  

The result of these principles is hybrid bulls. No other genetic input is as simple and as effective to use. Hybrid bulls create the simplicity of one breed with the power of two. They allow producers to optimize several traits while taking advantage of hybrid vigor and easily manage breed composition.By using strategically designed hybrid bulls, commercial producers are able to produce more uniform calves from cows that fit their environment and management as well as hit industry specifications.
