Cattleman’s Choice Genetics

My wife, daughter Mikah and I are very passionate about our involvement in agriculture and the wholesome lifestyle that it provides. In addition to our involvement in seedstock marketing, my wife and I teach at a rural public school in Midwest Missouri, as well as manage a 100 + head seedstock operation. I have a Bachelors degree in Animal Science and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Central Missouri. My wife received her Bachelors in Education at Missouri State and also received her Masters in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Central Missouri.

My wife and I decided two years ago to discontinue our role as a cooperator for Professional Beef Genetics under the prefix WACC and pursue my dream of marketing beef genetics. Since then, we have formed two very important partnerships. The first relationship we formed spawned Mid-America Beef Alliance, a joint venture that was designed to provide commercial cattlemen with the genetic selection and customer service they deserve. More recently, we have forged a partnership with a leading innovator in marketing and customer services. Flying H Genetics from Nebraska will greatly enhance our ability to provide customers with elite beef genetics and cutting edge customer services. We are very proud to be part of an expanding network that provides cattlemen the opportunity to enjoy their cattle.

Aside from my marketing role with the Missouri Regional Affiliate of Flying H Genetics, I have many personal goals as a producer of beef genetics.

  • Creating highly functional cattle that match the needs of this region (i.e. fescue adaptability and maternal traits such as, fertility & cow thriftiness).
  • Designing bulls that optimize "GENETIC VALUE" and convenience.
  • Aggressively utilize artificial insemination, embryo transfer technology and top herd sires to "strategically design" bulls.

I have targeted bulls to use in our A.I. and E.T. programs that will improve end product value and growth without sacrificing the durability of our fescue country cattle. Furthermore, we have spent many years installing and improving a management intensive grazing program on all of the land we own & manage so that we can concentrate on creating cattle that are extremely efficient on forage.
